Noticiero Móvil is a multimedia outlet that provides news in Spanish and English for residents in Northern Nevada. Our team is dedicated to working with the Latino community to provide unbiased, accessible, and relevant coverage and content about our diverse community. We also strive to involve and engage with our community on the issues of today via local events and dialogues.

¡No Me Digas! Special Edition: Noticiero Móvil 10th Anniversary Documentary Film! [S1 E6]

Our most recent episode of ¡No Me Digas! – the podcast where we break down topics that matter to nuestra comunidad – aims to shed light to the lack of Latino representation in Hollywood.

Despite the Latino population comprising nearly 20% of the population of the United States, their numbers are almost nonexistent on the silver screen, that is the movie industry. However, when Hispanics do write scripts, act, direct and produce their own content it tends to be successful in the box office. So, why aren't there more films with Latinos in them?

And don’t forget on No Me Digas, "it’s not chismé, it’s fact!"

Nuestro más reciente episodio de ¡No Me Digas! — el podcast en el que analizamos temas importantes para nuestra comunidad — tiene como objetivo resaltar la falta de representación latina en Hollywood.

A pesar de que la población latina ya suma casi el 20 por ciento la población de los Estados Unidos, su presencia es prácticamente inexistente en la pantalla grande, es decir, en la industria cinematográfica (y hasta en la chica especialmente en programación televisiva anglo-parlante).

Sin embargo, cuando los hispanos escriben guiones, actúan, dirigen y producen su propio contenido, estos suelen tener éxito en taquilla. Entonces, ¿por qué no hay más películas con latinos?

Y no olvides que en No Me Digas, "¡no es chisme, es hecho"!
