Construction continues on Virginia Street Project

February 9, 2020 by Lesly Virgen-Mariscal

The Virginia Street project is entering its next phase, the Reno Gazette Journal recently reported.

Construction on the Midtown Reno construction project will continue Monday, Feb. 10. During this phase, work on the usually busy thoroughfare will continue on the west side of Virginia Street. Traffic along the stretches of road between Liberty and Vassar Streets will be one-way and limited to southbound vehicles, according to the Reno Transportation Commission.

Northbound traffic will be diverted to two other streets: Center Street on the east side and Plumas Street on the west side, the RGJ added.

Boardwalk access will also be provided to pedestrians to reach all businesses on Virginia Street whose storefronts have been affected by construction.

With every passing day, the central areas of Reno experience some change to its landscape. This is due to planned infrastructure renovations by the city. –CC
