Donald Trump Rally

Why are you here today?

October 29, 2015 by Noticiero Movil

By Alex Mosher

Presidential candidate Donald Trump held a rally at the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks, Nevada on October 29, 2015. We sought to meet attendees and understand what attracted them to the event, asking each one “Why are you here today?”

Penny Estrada, 46, Reno

“I support Trump for his values and the fact that he doesn’t hold any punches. He says what Americans are thinking and he supports the military. That’s important to me because I have a son who’s in the Marine Corps and a daughter who’s going into the Navy as soon as she graduates high school.”

“I think he’s [Donald Trump] a strong candidate. I like how he is a loose cannon. I like how he’s really outspoken, he’s not politically correct. I feel like its time for the country to have a different kind of president.”

“We are here to support Donald Trump mostly because he’s smart; he’s a billionaire. He knows what he’s doing and knows what’s best for the country.”

“I’m going to vote for him [Donald Trump] because he’s the best candidate. I like his immigration laws and his free gun zone [policy] so teachers can be armed.”

“I want someone to be the president that isn’t a lawyer or politician. All these politicians have been there forever and nothing has changed.  It’s still the same old baloney.”

Note from editor added comment on Jan. 3, 2023: Noticiero Móvil has been contacted by Mr. Connor O’Hair. He wanted to update the outlet that in 2015 he attended the rally by the former president as a high school class assignment. He no longer wants there to be an association between him and Mr. Trump.

“Based on his [Donald Trump] debates, he seems like a president that’s not afraid to do what’s necessary. He’s not afraid to say what’s on his mind and every other candidate says what people want to hear.”

Ambrielle Palmer, 24, Reno

“I really like Trump’s political ideas, and I feel like we need to be a stronger country. I don’t feel like the Democrats have been representing us the way they should and they’ve been spending too much money on frivolous things.”
